Last Thursday, the faculty and staff (though not the students!) of the City University of New York (CUNY) got a temporary reprieve from Chancellor Rodriguez. The deadline for getting these mRNA shots was extended from April 1st to May 27th. Obviously, the Chancellor was concerned about the chaos the Board of Trustees (BoT) would face, mid semester, if “vaccine hesitant” faculty and staff failed to submit to Hochul’s, Rodriguez’ and the BoT’s bluff. Now they can quietly do to such faculty and staff what the NYC Board of Education did to the “hesitant” teachers – quietly “can” us, put us on unpaid leave and then fire us, after they find enough of those willing to submit to take our place.

Where is the New Caucus (NC) leadership of the PSC (Professional Staff Congress)? Just like their confreres Mike Mulgrew and the UFT (United Federation of Teachers) misleadership, the NC is solidly pro-mandate–and just as likely to stand by while their own rank and filer members get the axe this summer.

A Bureaucratic, Authoritarian, Dangerous Policy

This  is an utter betrayal of the ideal of union democracy. But that should come as no surprise. The New Caucus originally promised to reject the “organic” relationship their conservative predecessors in the “CUNY Unity Caucus” prided themselves upon creating with management. But instead of galvanizing the membership for real change—fighting to end the two tier system, for example–they lobby the Democrats and now fall completely in line with the  Donkey Party’s draconian mandates.

The myth they have bought into is that our public health officials care about and know what is best for us. But as Marx and Weber both understood, bureaucracy does not favor critical thought. It silences critics, and discourages informed critical discussion and debate. And it favors the power of oligarchs, like Bill Gates, Albert Boorla, or Klaus Schwab—not the health or welfare of ordinary people, These billionaires don’t give a damn about public health. Instead, as Marxist economist Kees van der Pijl has pointed out, they seek to forestall a new “1848”–a global workers’ revolutionary upsurge—by creating a global, trans-human, vaccine-passport/contact-tracing surveillance state.[1]

Dr. Anthony “The Science” Fauci. Francis Collins, and other public health bureaucrats, are no saints, either, For decades now they have put blood on their hands with their phony “scientific testing” of deadly but Pharma-profitable drugs like AZT,  killing, maiming, sterilizing thousands upon thousands of orphan children of color in the U.S, of pregnant women in Africa, etc. Now these mRNA shot mandates are winning them genocidal world records. Why?! Because they work for captured agencies: putting the very regulatory agencies that supposedly regulate corporate activity, under the control of those same corporate billionaires.[2]

Before the NC decided merely to sing along with CUNY management, they should have invited their own PSC membership to engage in a full, democratic discussion, where every member could contribute their opinions, their dissenting views, discussing the science, weighing the evidence. But of course, all their “progressive” and “democratic” pretensions to the contrary, this never happened. It never has happened. Did they ever yield to the basic democratic demand of CUNY Contingents United for a dedicated bulletin, to create a forum to fully discuss any of the contracts—selling out the adjuncts year after year after year?

These jabs are an experimental medical treatment. They only have an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA. To mandate them, therefore, is a violation of the Nuremberg Code, formulated in response to Nazi medical experiments upon concentration camp inmates, banning forced medical experimentation. It also violates the US Code on War Crimes, which accedes to the Geneva Convention, banning such medical experimentation,[3]

Have government agencies/public health authorities and the Big Pharma corporations–Pfizer, Moderna, J&J–given us proper, scientifically based assurance that these shots are necessary, safe, or effective? A growing body of evidence indicates an answer of No, on all three counts. Safe? How about the 25,000 deaths and hundreds of thousands of injuries, already recorded on the Government’s own VAERS System, which has been found to report only 1% of the actual deaths and injuries? But where there is risk, must there not be choice?

Effective? Even the CDC Director Walensky—who admitted recently she got her effectivity data by watching CNN–admits now that they aren’t effective in preventing transmission.

Necessary? Though the FDA and CDC worked actively—and illegally–to suppress their use, in order to get the shots the EUA–Prior FDA-Approved remedies like ivermectin have proven to be at least 75% effective for early treatment.[4]

Mandating an experimental medication is a violation of our fundamental rights. It is immoral and illegal. If we insist upon our rights, we cannot be defeated. We call upon the New Caucus leadership to disavow their capitulation to this insane campaign for Covid repression–mandating mRNA shots, and masks. Be a real leadership! Fight for our basic human rights!
