17-02-2024: The World Health Organisation (WHO) may have begun with good intentions in 1948, as an adjunct body to the United Nations (UN), but today working and oppressed people of the world encounter the WHO as a blunt instrument of global tyranny imposing deceitful and potentially deadly edicts. In March 2020, the WHO declared Covid-19 – an alleged illness supposedly caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus – to be a “pandemic” or “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” (PHEIC). Of course, there was no pandemic. It may have been a seasonal cold and flu IF the SARS-CoV-2 virus could be proven to exist. Rather, “Covid” was code for vile political repression under the guise of “public health”, and the imposition of measures never previously conceived, such as lockdowns, facemask decrees and vaccine mandates – which had no scientific basis whatever.
Who funds the WHO?
The extreme political and economic repression of working people during two years of Covid terror could not have been imposed without the WHO driving the agenda. Vaccine mandates – take an untested formula through an injection or lose the means to feed, clothe and house yourself and your family – was arguably the worst aspect of Covid tyranny. Some vaccine mandates remain in place today, under other guises for some occupations. So who is behind the WHO, and who funds the WHO? Today, the notorious billionaire software developer Bill Gates and his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) are the second largest funders of the WHO. Member nations of the WHO pay a percentage of their GDP (Gross Domestic Product) agreed upon every two years at the World Health Assembly (WHA). This funding makes up around 20% of the WHO’s budget. 80% of the WHO’s budget stems from “voluntary contributions” from member states, NGOs or private entities. Of this, Gates’ BMGF is responsible for some 88% of this funding.[1] The fact that the WHO is so reliant on funding from vaccine fanatic Bill Gates and his dubious motives can only be problematic, to say the least.
During the Covid class attack of 2020-22, four bodies gave $10 billion to the WHO to basically push the WHO towards more or less forced vaccinations and other nonsensical measures to bolster “pandemic” propaganda. These four were the BMGF, Gavi, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness (CEPI) and the Wellcome Trust. Yet both Gavi and CEPI received seed funding from the BMGF. The WHO was crucial to their rise to prominence at this unprecedented time. The boards of Gavi and CEPI have a specifically designated WHO representative, and there is a revolving door of personnel between BMGF, Gavi, CEPI, the Wellcome Trust and the WHO.[2] During the time of the Donald Trump administration, the US government reduced its contributions by some $400 million. This made Germany the largest donor nation, contributing 14.9% of the WHO’s budget. However, if we add the amounts contributed by BMGF and Gavi – as both are ultimately funded by Bill Gates – they form around 17% of the WHO’s funding.[3] So even with the reduction of WHO funding from the US government, which has since been restored by the Biden administration, Bill Gates and his foundation remains the second largest funder of the body supposedly responsible for world health.
Stop the Global Pandemic Treaty
Not satisfied with being the source of horrific “health” repression, the WHO now is seeking the power to override national parliaments who have the temerity to question whether there is actually a pandemic which requires extraordinary measures. The WHO’s Global Pandemic Treaty is now officially referred to as an “Accord”, perhaps to get around the reluctance of many states in the Global South to sign on. As proposed, this legally binding treaty would see power handed over to the WHO to direct the global management of pandemics – even fraudulent ones. Once a pandemic is declared, the treaty would require nations to adopt specific response measures.[4] In other words, the WHO could declare a “pandemic” and override national governments by requiring them to impose lockdowns, vaccine mandates, forced medical examinations and even the forced relocation of groups of people.
This pandemic treaty could come into effect at the 77th World Health Assembly in May 2024 by a simple majority vote. Understandably, some medical bodies have reacted with horror to such a scenario. A letter from concerned physicians in India to the WHO stated that the proposed pandemic treaty manifestly violates the rights of the citizens of India and cancels the fundamental right to bodily autonomy and integrity through mandating medical procedures via grossly illegal acts. It goes on to note that the negation of bodily integrity of any human being means the loss of all human rights.[5] Even if the WHO itself does not have the power to actually force national governments to bend to its will, this “treaty” must be stopped in its tracks, and the WHO itself must fade away into a dark past.
There is a gathering campaign to #ExitTheWHO, and this demand should be raised and fought for by working people the world over. The WHO no longer serves any progressive purpose, and is now used against workers, and not at all for their health. The People’s Republic of China (PRC), a bureaucratically deformed workers’ state, should withdraw the huge amount of funding it contributes. Instead, the PRC is politically lead by a conservative Stalinist caste, which props up the WHO in its treacherous efforts to stabilise world imperialism outside the borders of the Chinese mainland. The PRC central government had imposed irrational and long lockdowns in some cities in China, which were incredibly harmful. Eventually, Chinese people rose in protest against lockdowns, and they also blocked an attempted vaccine mandate in Beijing within 24 hours.[6]
The WHO is a pillar of global capitalism, led by Western imperialism. The UN is likewise, but currently the UN is being used as a platform by the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and others) bloc to somewhat hold the US and European elites accountable. As capitalism rapidly declines, its archaic institutions are being weaponised against the class which is destined to overthrow its decaying system on the road to a world without tyranny, poverty, vast inequality and the ongoing danger of war. Workers in power can and will build their own institutions. EXIT THE WHO!
